ICE Raids in Oceanside

I could not be more disappointed in Oceanside city leadership than I am right now. Second ICE abductions in our community and where are our fearless leaders? Nowhere to be found, sure they might have posted about the kidnapping after the fact but where is the outrage, where is the plan to stop these from happening, where is at least a statement on official city letter head condoning these raids?  District 1 representative Eric Joyce, who also happens to be deputy mayor, sure loves to talk about how much he loves the Oceanside community, the unique melting pot we live in, and especially likes to hang out in the Eastside when it’s election time but is awfully quiet when the shit hits the fan.  Even more our Mayor Esther Sanchez loves to boast and brag about being born and raised in Oceanside, mostly in the very Eastside neighborhood being terrorized by ICE, but surprisingly doesn’t have much to say about the recent raids. The people’s mayor my ass. Others in leadership positions who love a great photo op with the diversity of our city are quietly standing on the sidelines while these diverse communities are being attacked. OPD has said they will follow the state law and not assist ICE, but what are they doing to protect and serve the residents of Oceanside?  Is anyone confirming ICE has warrants for these kidnappings?  Is anyone making sure if they do have a legit warrant they are taking only the person or people the warrant is for?  Also, has there been any update on the people already kidnapped by ICE, do we know where they were sent, have they been deported, ARE THEY ALIVE?  These are the type of questions real leaders would have answers to, but hey at least we all know about the planning committee meeting  about the transit center redevelopment. You know, the important stuff.
